Energy saving renovation case of an air compressor in a certain factory

A company currently has a 55KW air compressor with an exhaust pressure of 8bar (under normal conditions), a loading rate of about 70%, and an annual usage time of 4000 hours (electricity price: 0.7 RMB/kWh).

A: The electricity consumption of a non-VFD air compressor is (loading consumption + no-load consumption) × usage time × electricity price, i.e., (55 × 70% + 55 × 45% × 30%) × 4000 × 0.7 ≈ 129,000 RMB/year

B: Using the C-VSD variable frequency energy-saving system, constant pressure air supply reduces power consumption by 14%, and the VFD itself consumes 3% of the power. The electricity consumption is (actual consumption with the VFD system + VFD consumption) × usage time × electricity price, i.e.: (55 × 86% × 70% + 55 × 3%) × 4000 × 0.7 ≈ 97,000 RMB/year
